Run by Woodland Wonders Forest School, Curious Minds is specifically designed for pre-school and home educated primary aged children with special educational needs and disabilities and their siblings.
Meeting over the course of five weeks throughout term-time, sessions are centred around nature, stories or themes and are adapted and designed around the children’s individual needs. Children are welcome to join in the activities offered or spend time playing with new friends, exploring the woods or creating their own child-led activities.
There will be various craft activities to take part in, as well as opportunities to learn how to make bush craft creations and have a go at some fire lighting. There will be a slice of cake and tea or coffee for parent carers.
Curious Minds is a perfect opportunity to introduce your child to outdoor play, child-led activities, learning through play and exploring, nature and new and exciting experiences in a safe and managed way.
The five-week programme for Compass Card holder’s costs £36 (usual price £40) for the first child and £31.50 (usual price £35) for a sibling. The sessions run for five weeks from 12.45 to 2.45pm from Friday 26 April. You have to book for the whole five weeks but if you are unsure whether your child will enjoy it you can attend a one off taster session at a cost of £8 on Friday 26 April.
If you have any queries or would like to discuss your child’s individual needs call Woodland Wonders Forest School on 07786 368800.
The woodland has fairly well defined natural pathways that lead to the base area and is suitable for all-terrain pushchairs. Please be aware that pushchairs will get muddy due to the nature of the terrain, environment and weather. Unfortunately, the site is not suitable for the use of wheelchairs.
