Carer’s Week will take place between Monday 10 and Sunday 16 June and this year’s theme is ‘getting carers connected in their communities’. Caring can be a hugely rewarding experience but carers can find it challenging to take care of their own wellbeing. Make sure you find out what’s available to help you by getting involved in the local events in Brighton & Hove and West Sussex to celebrate Carers Week – it’s a great opportunity to get connected!
Brighton & Hove
For the first time the Carers Hub will be holding a ‘Carers Festival’ from 2 until 6pm on Wednesday 12 June at the Open Market on London Road. The festival is a free afternoon of information, activities and entertainment showcasing all that is on offer to Carers in Brighton & Hove. There will be lots of Carers’ Card special offers on the day along with plenty of stalls to look around and free tea, coffee and cake if you take along your Carers’ Card. If you haven’t already got one you can sign up for one on the day. There’s even a complimentary Carers’ goody bag for first 150 adult carers and first 50 young carers. For more information, visit the Carers Hub website by clicking here.
Carers’ Card partner, Hove StressBusters has some special Carers Week offers to help you relax and regenerate. You just need to book from 10 to 16 June (the treatment can be any time). For example, you can book a 60 minute introduction to ‘Colour Therapy’ for £60 instead of £70; book a course of three 1-1 sessions of ‘Empowerment Coaching’ for £280 instead of £440; or you can book either an introductory 60 minutes session of ‘Zen Life Coaching’ for £35 instead of £60, or a block of three sessions for £99 instead of £180. There are also offers on ‘Emotional Freedom Technique’, ‘Identity Constellations’ ‘Psychotherapy’, ‘Counselling’, ‘Self-Development Workshops’, ‘Stress & Anxiety Management’ group, ‘No More Insomnia’ sessions and a ‘Phobia Buster Programme’. All the information you need is on the Hove Stressbusters website.
