Local charity, Pedal People, are opening a new inclusive cycling hub and need your views to help shape it!
They currently operate weekly, year-round cycling adventures for elders living in care homes and are expanding their service to support children and young people with SEND, including those with very complex needs, as well as adults with disabilities or mobility challenges.
Opening mid-2021, a ‘location for all ages adaptive cycling’ is planned for Madeira Drive in Brighton. The Hub will offer:
- Carer-control (steering & braking) trikes with a variety of adaptations, side-by-sides for two and foue people together, recumbents and wheel-chair platform cycles.
- Drop-in or bookable sessions, weekdays, after-school, weekends and some school holidays, year-round.
- An accessible location – close to planned new Changing Places Toilet, which pedal People have requested, at the east end of Madeira Drive with the 14 new additional disabled parking bays.
- A discount Compass Card holders.
Cycling is great for wellbeing, motor skills, strength, coordination and the magic of wind-in-hair joy and Pedal People would love your opinion to help shape the new Inclusive Cycling Hub.
