For young people with additional needs looking for work experience, Compass Card partner, Weald and Downland Living Museum near Chichester, has some great work experience and volunteering opportunities. Volunteering can be for a few hours, for a day, a regular commitment or a one-off, on your own or with a PA, or even as a whole family. In June 2016, the museum’s volunteers were proud to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Training and support is provided and opportunities are varied. You could find yourself milling, blacksmithing, gardening, doing Tudor cooking or gardening, or working in the stables or with the oxen. If you’re interested, contact Heather Sullivan, the museum’s Gateway Engagement Officer. Email Heather at: activities2@wealddown.co.uk and remember to mention you’re a Compass Card holder.
