Nothing shouts winter fun more than a spot of ice skating. Whether you love to whizz around the ice pretending you’re one of this year’s ‘Dancing on Ice’ contestants, or you’re more comfortable gripping hold of the outside of the rink, why not give it a try.
To make your ice skating planning a little easier. we have put together a list of ice rinks in Sussex. Please note, we do not have Compass Card offers at all of the rinks listed and some may not offer concessionary rates. We suggest you contact the individual rink to discuss any accessibility requirements and concessions.
Worthing Ice Rink
Worthing Ice Rink is an undercover rink in Steyne Gardens. Sessions run from 1.45 to 9pm Monday to Friday during term time and from 10am to 9pm during weekends and school holidays. The café will be open daily offering hot drinks and snacks. Manual and electric wheelchairs with manual override are allowed on the ice and there’s a temporary ramp to access the rink.
Compass Card holders can take one carer with them for free. Check out all the information you need on our offers page.
Royal Pavilion Ice Rink
Open from Saturday 28 October to Sunday 7 January, the Royal Pavilion ice rink is back for the winter season. The main rink offers plenty of space for more confident skaters, while the separate beginners’ rink provides a safe area for younger visitors to build confidence. For those looking to just sit back and soak up the festive atmosphere, you can spectate from the rink-side bar & kitchen over a delicious warming hot chocolate or mulled wine and a full menu offering tasty treats.
Although the ice rink website mentions the Compass Card, we don’t have an offer with them this year and are aware that sessions for wheelchair users are limited, as are the free carer entries. Booking in advance is the best way to access the free carer entry and all other information can be found on their website.
Eastbourne Ice Rink
Open from Saturday 9 to Sunday 31 December Eastbourne Ice Rink is a fully covered real ice rink situated outside of the Enterprise Centre and Eastbourne Railway Station. Expect Christmas music, incredible lights, decorations and a jolly atmosphere for all the family.
