Here at Amaze, we run a National Lottery-funded project for young people in Brighton and Hove called Amazing Futures. With Disability Pride at Hove Lawns on Saturday 14 July around the corner, we asked some of the young people from Amazing Futures to tell us what they are most proud of. They told us through the pictures, quotes and video clips you can see below. All the young people who took part will be entered into our ‘Proud Pride Draw’ – and you can enter too (see below for more info).
“I am proud of myself because I have made board games and I have spent my time thinking about questions and making cards for them. I have looked at different websites and books to get some ideas for my board games. I have made board games about music, Halloween and driving tests.” – Kiana
“I have additional needs and I am proud of myself because peer support I achieved and I am proud with that.” – Jamillah
“I have additional needs and I am proud of myself because I got a job which is a bit of volunteers work at Sold in Shoreham and I’m really enjoying it because I made some new friends there.”
Amber is particularly proud of her Duke of Edinburgh gold award and drew a picture of it here.
“I am getting better at handwriting. I am improving on my maths.”
You can enter our Proud Prize Draw by responding to our Disability Pride Facebook post by clicking on the ‘F’ logo below or by emailing us. Just tell us in your own words why you’re proud of your Compass Card holder – or if you’re a Compass Card holder, why you’re proud of yourself – and if you’re posting on Facebook, it would be great to see a photo!
